Syllabus

The trial court erred by adjudicating the child dependent by taking judicial notice of a prior adjudication. The prior adjudication was dismissed, and thus it was as if no adjudication ever existed. The trial court was required to hold a hearing and take evidence to support by clear and convincing evidence an adjudication of dependency.
