Civ.R. 15(D) procedure must be strictly followed and is not available where plaintiff knows or should know name of defendant. Captioning complaint against unknown doctors and nurses \c/o\ the hospital does not suffice to name hospital as defendant. Civ.R. 15(C) is available to change—not add—parties.
