<p>Public officers — Elections—State treasurer — Vacancy—Duration of appointment.</p> <p>A state treasurer appointed by the governor in April, 1910, holds his office until his successor shall be elected at the general election in the year 1912, inasmuch as the amendment of 1909 provides for an election to this office in 1912, and not in the intervening years, and art. IV, see. 8, of the constitution expressly provides that in case of a vacancy in an elective office “a person shall be chosen to said office on the next election day appropriate to said office according to the provisions of this constitution.”</p>
