<p>Municipalities — Cities of third class — Public streets — Power to vacate.</p> <p>A city of the third class has power to annul, vacate or discontinue a street originally laid out, opened and dedicated by the Commonwealth, whenever the municipal authorities deem it expedient for the public good; and a bond issue authorized by ordinance for the purpose of constructing subways across a vacated street is valid and will not be enjoined on the ground that the easement over such vacated street granted in the original deeds from the Commonwealth constituted a contract which could not be impaired by act of the city.</p>
