Syllabus

<p>Syllabus.</p> <p>It is tbe duty of tbe employer to select and retain servants who are fitted and competent for the service, and to furnish sufficient appliances and machinery, or other means, by which it is to be performed, and to keep them in repair and order. The liability of the employer is the same whether he totally fails to provide persons to perform a duty he owes to his servants, or provides persons who are incompetent and unskilful.</p>
