The defendant, Ethan Tucker, appealed from the Providence County Superior Court's grant of partial summary judgment in favor of the plaintiff, Debra DiMaggio. Mr. Tucker contended that the hearing justice improperly applied the law of the case<br>doctrine when ruling on Ms. DiMaggio's motion for partial summary judgment. The Supreme Court held that the hearing justice did not err in his application of the lawof the case doctrine. Accordingly, the Court affirmed the judgment of the Superior Court.
