Syllabus

<p>Prima facie, an accommodation indorsement is a loan of the indorser’s credit without restriction; but, when the permissible defence is made that the indorsement was for a restricted purpose and fraudulently diverted .therefrom by the maker, the questions whether or not the indorsement was made as claimed and whether the note was transferred in payment of a pre-existing debt or as a collateral security therefor, are to be submitted to the jury with proper instructions.</p>
