<p>PROMISSORY NOTES-TWO NOTES POR ONE DEBT-INNOCENT PURCHASERS.</p> <p>Where two promissory notes have been executed by the maker-for the same indebtedness, the second' note having been given with the intent that it should be a renewal of the one first given- and both notes have been transferred by the payee before maturity to an innocent purchaser for value, the payment of one of the-notes does not, as against the tona fide holder of them, operate as-, a payment of both.</p>
