Syllabus

<p>1. Amendment of Complaint—Stating New Cause of Action.</p> <p>Under the rule in South Carolina, the court cannot permit a complaint to be amended by the addition of allegations showing a liability on the part of a defendant against whom the original complaint states no cause of action, and when such proposed amendment is directly contradictory of the allegations of the original complaint.</p>
