Prohibition, mandamus, probation, conditions of probation, firearms, discretion, abuse of discretion, appeal, and R.C. 2929.25(A)(1)(a). The court dismissed the applications for writs of mandamus and prohibition to prevent the trial court from enforcing a condition of probation that there would be no weapons in the marital home during a one-year probation. R.C. 2929.25(A)(1)(a) grants the court broad authority and discretion in imposing conditions of probation. Because the judge was acting within her statutorily granted jurisdiction, prohibition would not lie. Mandamus does not lie for an abuse of discretion.
