Ammon L. \Treigh\ Sullivan v. South Carolina Department of Education

Syllabus

The South Carolina Department of Education (the Department) appeals a judgment entered against it by default. It is undisputed that the Department failed to timely respond to the summons and complaint. The circuit court declined to set aside the entry of default and a master-in-equity subsequently entered a default judgment awarding Ammon L. \Treigh\ Sullivan damages. We reverse and remand.
