<p>Damages. Proximate and remote cause.</p> <p>The acts of a railway company in allowing- tank car-s, containing cottonseed oil, to escape from a train and run down a grade in the track until they strike an obstruction, breaking the tanks and spilling the oil, from which it flowed into an adjoining pasture, accumulated in low places and there remained for several days, is not the proximate cause of the death of cows, which drank the oil in the pasture and died from its effects.</p>
