Abolish Trafficking Reauthorization Act of 2022

This Trafficking Victims Prevention Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) increased privacy and confidentiality requirements for U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) anti-trafficking programs and reauthorized some HHS anti-trafficking program appropriations through 2027.

Today, the TVPA has resulted in Anti-Human Trafficking Task Forces in 40 cities across the U.S. These task forces coordinate local and federal law enforcement to rescue victims, refer them to appropriate rehabilitative services, and prosecute traffickers.

The Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 (TVPRA of 2008) expanded anti trafficking prevention strategies and expanded protections available with the T Visa. It also regulated that all unaccompanied alien children be screened as potential victims of human trafficking.
