Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

Privacy Act of 1974; Systems of Records

AGENCY: Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Department of
Energy (DOE).

ACTION: Rescindment of a system of records.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: Pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974 and Office of Management
and Budget (OMB) Circular A-108, the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission (Commission or FERC) proposes to rescind an existing system
of records notice (SORN). Specifically, the following SORN is being
proposed for rescindment ``Commission Temporary Work-at-Home Program
(FERC-39).'' The basis for rescindment is explained below.

DATES: Comments on this rescindment notice must be received no later
than 30 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register. If
no public comment is received during the period allowed for comment or
unless otherwise published in the Federal Register by FERC, the
rescindment will become effective a minimum of 30 days after the date
of publication in the Federal Register. If FERC receives public

Executive Director, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First
Street NE, Washington, DC 20426, (202) 502-6475.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
    ``Commission Temporary Work-at-Home Program (FERC-39)'' was
identified for rescindment from FERC's Privacy Act systems of records
inventory because the records are no longer maintained by FERC. The
Privacy Act provides that an agency may only collect or maintain in its
records information about individuals that is relevant and necessary to
accomplish a purpose that is required by a statute or executive order.
If a system of records is comprised of records that no longer meet this
standard, the Privacy Act may require agencies to stop maintaining the
system and expunge the records in accordance with the requirements of
the SORN and the application record retention or disposition schedule
approved by the National Archives and Records Administration. The
system manager has deemed ``Commission Temporary Work-at-Home Program
(FERC-39)'' obsolete and that the records are no longer relevant to
accomplish an agency mission/purpose. Accordingly, the SORN was
identified for rescindment and the records have been disposed of in
accordance with the relevant records retention schedule.
System Name and Number: Commission Temporary Work-at-Home Program
(FERC-39).
    History: 65 FR 21754 (April 24, 2000).

    Dated: September 24, 2026.

Secretary.
