Termination of the Environmental Impact Statement and Associated
Resource Management Plan Amendment for the Section 368 Energy Corridor
Revisions
AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management, Interior.
ACTION: Notice of termination.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: By this notice, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is
announcing the termination of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
described in the Notice of Intent (NOI) published in the Federal
Register on December 1, 2023, for potential Resource Management Plan
(RMP) Amendments for the Section 368 Energy Corridors Revisions.
DATES: The EIS effort described in the NOI is terminated immediately.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: In accordance with the National
Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), as amended, the BLM published
an NOI to prepare an EIS in the Federal Register on December 1, 2023
(88 FR 83959).
The BLM is terminating the EIS for the potential RMP Amendments
related to several Section 368 Energy Corridor Revisions. The initial
goal was to enable preferred siting and efficient environmental review
for linear energy infrastructure. Now, updated processing methods and
tools allow these activities to proceed in the changing energy market
without requiring an EIS. Accordingly, the BLM is rescinding its NOI to
prepare RMP Amendments and is terminating the EIS announced in the
Federal Register at 88 FR 83959.
