Proposed Revisions to the National Handbook of Conservation
Practices for the Natural Resources Conservation Service
AGENCY: Natural Resources Conservation Service, Department of
Agriculture (USDA).
ACTION: Notice of availability; request for comments; Reopening of
comment period.

SUMMARY: The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is reopening
the comment period for 30 days due to impacts of recent hurricanes to
allow the public to provide comments on the specified conservation
practice standards to be revised in the National Handbook of
Conservation Practices (NHCP) published on September 24, 2024.
DATES: The comment period for the Notice of availability, request for
comments published on September 24, 2024, at 89 FR 77811 is reopened.
We will consider comments that we receive by November 24, 2024.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: NRCS is reopening the comment period on the
Notice of availability, request for comments published on September 24,
2024, (89 FR 77811-77812). The comment period for the original notice
closed on October 24, 2024. Based on requests received during the
initial comment period, NRCS is providing an additional 30 days to
allow the public to comment on the specified conservation practice
standards to be revised in the NHCP. This will allow more time for the
public to adequately review and provide constructive feedback on the
proposed revisions to the conservation practice standards.
