Abstract
In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the NDU announces a proposed public information collection and seeks public comment on the provisions thereof. Comments are invited on: whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed information collection; ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and ways to minimize the burden of the information collection on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology.

AGENCY: National Defense University (NDU), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs
of Staff (CJCS), Department of Defense (DoD).
ACTION: 60-Day information collection notice.

SUMMARY: In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the
NDU announces a proposed public information collection and seeks public
comment on the provisions thereof.

Comments are invited on: whether the proposed collection of information
is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency,
including whether the information shall have practical utility; the

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Title; Associated Form; and OMB Number: Master's Degree Application
Form for International Students; OMB Control Number: 0704-0599.
Needs and Uses: This form is used to collect the information
required to admit international students to an NDU master's degree
program. The respondents are prospective international students who
wish to be admitted to an NDU master's degree program. They respond to
this information collection in partial fulfillment of NDU application
and admissions requirements. The completed collection instrument is
processed by the NDU registrars and a committee of NDU faculty who
review the application in consideration of admission to a master's
degree program. The successful effect of this information collection is
to satisfy NDU master's degree application requirements for
international students so that an admissions decision can be made.

Annual Burden Hours: 30.
Number of Respondents: 120.
Responses per Respondent: 1.
Annual Responses: 120.
Average Burden per Response: 15 minutes.
