Abstract
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing an exemption from certain portions of the acceptance criteria for emergency core cooling systems to allow the use of a risk-informed analysis to evaluate the effects of debris in containment following a loss-of-coolant accident for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Point Beach) located in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. The exemption is in response to a request dated July 29, 2022, as supplemented by letter dated June 9, 2023, from NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra, the licensee).
