ACTION: 30-Day information collection notice.

SUMMARY: The DoD has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget

(OMB) for clearance the following proposal for collection of 
information under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act.

DATES: Consideration will be given to all comments received by June 9, 
2023.

    Needs and Uses: This information requirement is used to determine 
the eligibility, competitive standing, and the scholastic and 
leadership potential of candidates for an appointment to the United 
States Naval Academy (USNA). Prior performance, including academic 
achievements, involvement in extracurricular activities and performance 
in leadership positions, has been found to be an excellent predictor of 
success. Without this information, the Naval Academy's ability to 
recruit qualified candidates will be seriously impacted. An analysis of 
the information collected is made by the Admissions Board in order to 
gauge the qualifications of individual candidates. Respondents are 
applicants for admission to the USNA, persons interested in applying 
for admission to the USNA, school officials for those applicants, Chain 
of Command officials for active duty applicants, person's providing 
recommendations for applicants, Blue and Gold Officers, Embassy or 
Naval Attach[eacute]s for international applicants from other 
countries, and local law enforcement officials.
