Abstract

DoD, GSA, and NASA issued a proposed rule on November 14, 2022, proposing to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to implement a requirement to ensure certain Federal contractors disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related financial risk and set science-based targets to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The deadline for submitting comments is being extended from January 13, 2023, to February 13, 2023, to provide additional time for interested parties to provide comments on the proposed rule.

Federal Acquisition Regulation: Disclosure of Greenhouse Gas 
Emissions and Climate-Related Financial Risk

AGENCY: Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration 
(GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

ACTION: Proposed rule; extension of comment period.

SUMMARY: DoD, GSA, and NASA issued a proposed rule on November 14, 
2022, proposing to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to 
implement a requirement to ensure certain Federal contractors disclose 
their greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related financial risk and 
set science-based targets to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The 
deadline for submitting comments is being extended from January 13, 
2023, to February 13, 2023, to provide additional time for interested 
parties to provide comments on the proposed rule.

DATES: For the proposed rule published on November 14, 2022, (87 FR 
68312), submit comments by February 13, 2023.
