SUMMARY: EPA proposed a rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act

(TSCA) to address the unreasonable risk of injury to health it has
identified for conditions of use of chrysotile asbestos following
completion of the TSCA Risk Evaluation for Asbestos, Part 1: Chrysotile
Asbestos.
DATES: The comment period for the proposed rule published April 12,
2022, 87 FR 21706, is extended. Comments must be received on or before
July 13, 2022.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This document extends the public comment
period established in the Federal Register of April 12, 2022 (87 FR
21706) (FRL-8332-02-OCSPP) for 30 days, from June 13, 2022 to July 13,
2022. In that document, EPA proposed a rule under TSCA to address the
unreasonable risk of injury to health it has identified for conditions
of use of chrysotile asbestos following completion of the TSCA Risk
Evaluation for Asbestos, Part 1: Chrysotile Asbestos, and solicited
public comment on the proposed rule. More information on EPA's proposed
regulation and solicitation of comment can be found in the Federal
Register of April 12, 2022.
EPA received requests to extend the comment period and believes it
is appropriate to do so in order to give stakeholders additional time
to review the proposed regulation and prepare comments.
