Information Collection Activities; Submission to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) for Review and Approval; Comment Request; 
Analysis of Exoskeleton-Use for Enhancing Human Performance Data 
Collection

    The Department of Commerce will submit the following information 
collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for 
review and clearance in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 
1995, on or after the date of publication of this notice. We invite the 
general public and other Federal agencies to comment on proposed, and 
continuing information collections, which helps us assess the impact of 
our information collection requirements and minimize the public's 
reporting burden. Public comments were previously requested via the 
Federal Register on September 14, 2021, during a 60-day comment period. 
This notice allows for an additional 30 days for public comments.
    Agency: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), 
Commerce.
    Title: Analysis of Exoskeleton-Use for Enhancing Human Performance 
Data Collection.
    OMB Control Number 0693-0083.
    Form Number(s): None.
    Type of Request: Regular, Revision of current information 
collection.
    Number of Respondents: 240.
    Average Hours per Response: 10 minutes.
    Burden Hours: 40 hours.
    Needs and Uses: NIST's Engineering Laboratory is developing methods 
to evaluate performance of exoskeletons in

two key areas (1) The fit and motion of the exoskeleton device with 
respect to the users' body and (2) The impact that using an exoskeleton 
has on the performance of users executing tasks that are representative 
of activities in industrial settings. The results of these experiments 
will inform future test method development at NIST, other 
organizations, and under the purview of the new American Society for 
Testing Materials (ASTM) Committee F48 on Exoskeletons and Exosuits.

    Frequency: On occasion.
