Abstract
In this document, the Commission adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that proposes and seeks comment on a number of actions aimed at stopping illegal robocalls from entering U.S. networks. The document proposes to require gateway providers to apply STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication to, and perform robocall mitigation on, foreign-originated calls with U.S. numbers. It also proposes and seeks comment on a number of additional requirements to ensure that gateway providers take steps to prevent foreign-originated calls from entering the U.S. network.
