AGENCY: Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
ACTION: Notice and request for comment.

SUMMARY: In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA),
the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) is requesting to
renew the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval for an
existing information collection, titled, ``State Official Notification
Rule--12 CFR 1082.1.''
DATES: Written comments are encouraged and must be received on or
before July 30, 2021 to be assured of consideration.

information collection should be sent within 30 days of publication of

Title of Collection: State Official Notification Rule--12 CFR.

OMB Control Number: 3170-0019.
Type of Review: Extension without change of an existing information
collection.
Affected Public: State and local governments.
Estimated Number of Respondents: 3.
Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 1.5.
Abstract: Section 1042 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and
Consumer Protection Act, 12 U.S.C. 5552 (Act), gave authority to
certain State and U.S.

territorial officials to enforce the Act and regulations prescribed
thereunder. Section 1042 also requires that the Bureau issue a rule
establishing how states are to provide notice to the Bureau before
taking action to enforce the Act (or, in emergency situations,
immediately after taking such an action). In accordance with the
requirements of the Act, the Bureau issued a final rule (12 CFR 1082.1)
establishing that notice should be provided at least 10 days before the
filing of an action, with certain exceptions, and setting forth a
limited set of information which is to be provided with the notice.
This is a routine request for OMB to renew its approval of the
collections of information currently approved under this OMB control
number. The Bureau is not proposing any new or revised collections of
information pursuant to this request.
Request for Comments: Comments are invited on: (a) Whether the
collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of
the functions of the Bureau, including whether the information will
have practical utility; (b) The accuracy of the Bureau's estimate of
the burden of the collection of information, including the validity of
the methods and the assumptions used; (c) Ways to enhance the quality,
utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) Ways
to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents,
including through the use of automated collection techniques or other
forms of information technology. Comments submitted in response to this
notice will be summarized and/or included in the request for OMB
approval. All comments will become a matter of public record.
