§ 29-1106Title 29
Ownership and transfer of property.
An unincorporated nonprofit association may acquire, hold, encumber, or transfer in its name an interest in property. An unincorporated nonprofit association may be a beneficiary of a trust or contract, a legatee, or a devisee. Application of Law 19-210: Section 7 of D.C. Law 19-210 provided that the act shall apply as of January 1, 2012. Uniform Law: This section is based on § 6 of the Uniform Unincorporated Nonprofit Association Act (2008 Act).
