§ 21-528Title 21

Detention of person pending judicial proceedings. [Repealed]

Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, the administrator of a hospital in which a person is hospitalized under this subchapter may, if judicial proceedings for his hospitalization have been commenced under subchapter IV of this chapter, detain the person in the hospital during the course of the judicial proceedings. Repealed.

Section 3 of D.C. Law 14-283 provided that the amendments made to this section shall apply upon the enactment of legislation by the United States Congress.
Congress enacted the District of Columbia Civil Commitment Modernization Act of 2004 (Public Law No. 108-450, H.R. 4302) on December 10, 2004. Therefore the amendments to this section by Section 3 of D.C. Law 14-283 have been implemented.
