A one-week waiting period applies (with limited exceptions).
Range: $51 to $1,033 per week (2025) — the highest cap in the United States.
Plus $25 per dependent, up to 50% of your WBA — total max benefits can exceed $1,500/week with 5+ dependents.
Calculated as ~50% of your average weekly wage in two highest quarters.
Maximum 30 weeks of regular benefits — the longest in the country (most states cap at 26).
At least $6,300 in base-period wages (2025).
Total base-period wages of at least 30× the WBA.
Lost work through no fault of your own — not discharged for deliberate misconduct in willful disregard of employer's interest (§ 25(e)(2)) or voluntary quit without good cause attributable to the employer.
Be capable of, available for, and actively seeking work.
Must conduct at least 3 work search activities per week.
Must register on MassHire JobQuest within 2 weeks.
Keep a written log.
Certify weekly through UI Online or TeleCert.
Earnings up to 1/3 of your WBA are disregarded.
Appeal within 10 days of the determination notice — extremely short deadline.
Hearings are conducted by DUA Review Examiners.
